A Giggle in Socrates Sculpture Park

On Saturday I braved the 90 degree weather and met my friend Minx at Socrates Sculpture Park in Long Island City, New York.  I always look forward to going to this park because all dogs big and small can run around a huge area off leash.  It is a great place to meet new doggie friends.  On a typical Saturday or Sunday there are anywhere from 20- 35 different dogs running around, socializing and having a great time chasing each other around.  Its a place we can come to be free from the confining Leash laws of the city!

Not only is Socrates Sculpture Park a place where us doggies can have a blast but it is also an area where artists have the opportunity to creat and exhibit large scale works of art.  Formerly an abandon riverside landfill and illegal dumpsite, this park was transformed in 1986 by a coalition of artists and community members into one of New York city's premier outdoor museum. CHeck out the new exhibit running from May 10th- August 2nd!
